كتب الصحفي عمرو طبش على حسابه الرسمي على موقع انستغرام، تعليقًا على الصورة:

كل يوم أسمع في ثلاجات الموتى نداءات تُقشعر لها الأبدان، كلمات تُقال من قلوب مكسورة تودّع أحبابها: “بدي بابا حبيبي.. بدي أشوف ماما.. ولادي ماتوا جعانين.. بابا نايم مش ميت.. والله الجو ساقع عليه.. ايش ذنبه الطفل راسه مقطوع.. كان حنون عليا.. هذه العبارات لا تفارقني، تسكن قلبي وتُثقله، تختصر وجع شعبٍ يكفن أحباءه بالكلمات والدموع.

“Every day, in the mortuaries, I hear cries that send shivers down the spine — words spoken by broken hearts bidding farewell to their loved ones: ‘I want my beloved father… I want to see my mother… my children died hungry… my dad isn’t dead, he’s just sleeping… it’s freezing out there… what was the child’s fault, his head was torn off… he was so kind to me.’ These words never leave me; they live in my heart and weigh it down.
